Early 20th century Georgian Colonial Revival
“We are so pleased with the way the house came out, and we’ve heard the same from our neighbors as well! It was great working with you and we’re really happy with how the house looks. As you can see, our painters took great pride in the project and did an excellent job, it was well worth it! Thanks again.” Steve.
Consider all the elements when designing a color scheme
For example the rear entry – The door and sidelight are not visible from the street. That does not mean they should be treated as second class. A two-color door with inverted colors on the sidelights provide a visually interesting approach to an otherwise forgotten part of the house.
Goal & Solution
Goal
The owners of this grand early 20th century home felt that the “before” all white color scheme made the house feel massive and cold. Their goal was to have the structure look “Classic and Stately” with historical colors.
Solution
Employing a 1910 historic period paint catalogue I worked with the homeowners to select a Stone Gray body color and a matching off-white trim. The homes accents are painted gold and the windows a period dark green. Black shutters are set to go on the window soon.
